ABOUT ABSOLUTE SELF DEFENCE
Welcome to Absolute Self Defence
Absolute Self Defence is a full-time martial arts school in Mount Kuring-Gai, offering practical, age-appropriate self defence training for children, teens and adults in a safe, supportive and family-friendly environment.
Since 2018, we have helped students build confidence, resilience, fitness, coordination, safety awareness and real self defence skills for life. Our younger programs also focus strongly on gross motor skills, balance, core strength, listening, self-control and school readiness.
We proudly teach Kwan Nyom Hapkido, known as the complete art of self defence, as a representative member of the International Hapkido Alliance (IHA) and the Australian Hapkido group under the leadership of Grandmaster Geoff Booth.
Hapkido is far more than kicking and punching. It includes practical self defence against grabs, strikes, pushes and kicks, along with rolls, breakfalls, balance breaks, ground defence and joint locks. It is a non-competitive martial art that helps students develop lifelong skills in a safe and encouraging team environment.
Our Programs
Hawks – ages 4 to 8
Falcons – ages 9 to 12
Eagles – ages 13 and older (teens and adults)
We also run holiday programs, boot camps and teen activities, with some community programs open to non-members. We believe social and communication skills being an important set of life skills so we organise social events for our youth and our classes and all programs focus on physical, emotional, social skills equally, as part of personal development for all ages.

We offer seven main classes and programs at Absolute Self Defence.
RAPTORS: 4-5 year olds - development and school readiness program Raptors train with Hawks)
HAWKS: 5-8 year olds - Introduction to self defence and physical development
FALCONS: 9-12 year olds - self defence, physical development, mindfulness, introduction to hapkido
TEENS EVENTS: 13 and over teenage group
IHA EAGLES: 13+ teens and adults

Our door is open to all parents and children, teens, adults
that is all ages to come and give our Hapkido a try.

Existing members can login to manage student account, manage class bookings, make event bookings, communicate with the club.
New Members, once you complete your trial classes you can login to member portal to subscribe to a training plan of your choice.
If subscribing more than one family member always select the older family member to subscribe to a family plan.

School Holidays
HAPKIDO BOOT CAMP!
Are you wondering how to keep the kids busy during the school holidays?
Do you want to book something that is more than vacation care?
Why not book them into a super fun day in which they will learn new skills, build self confidence and make a bunch of great new friends.
At our program your kids will be busy all day, exercising and playing games, practicing social skills. Detoxing from devices, connecting with peers, and moving with meaningful activities and challenges do wonders for children's mental, emotional, social and physical well-being.
At the end of the day, they all go home tired but happy, with many fun memories made.
The holiday fun days are facilitated by Absolute Self Defence's Founder and Leader, Ma'am Gaye,
Her amazing team of Jidoja, club leaders, who have years of experience supporting and mentoring younger students, making their journey fun with creative ideas!
We have a large matted fully equipped space for active play and physical training!
We will have Gladiator Challenge days, fav games and a great amount of Hapkido training and weaponry practice. Students who are in children's programs will have opportunity to grade after Hapkido boot camp days,
if they are ready with all their tips. Tips and signatures will be given to students who know their techniques during the Hapkido boot camp.
Eagles will be able to prep towards their own IHA grading and belt progress.
Our Program Directors Ma'am Alana, Ma'am Abigail and Sir Ethan have been leading groups and running our popular holiday programs for a number of years now and they come up with the best fun activities!
Ma'am Talia, Sir William, Ma'am Eleanor and Ma'am Dana are great with the younger kids, running fun activities during the holiday programs. Everyone leaves with memories made and new friendships forged.
Our members can bring friends to the holiday programs at member price.
New to Hapkido? You will benefit so much from attending one or more days and learn so many skills.
